Dental accidents and pain can come about when we least expect it. If you suffer from a dental emergency, you need to seek professional help as quickly as possible. That is why here at Dental Beauty Swanscombe, we offer emergency dental treatment to everyone – even those not registered with us!
We endeavour to see patients with dental emergencies as soon as possible, but we recommend the following methods to provide temporary pain relief until you get to see our emergency dentists.
If you have a toothache that continues to get worse, rinse your mouth with warm water, and if you can, gently floss your teeth to remove any food particles that may be causing infection. Over-the-counter pain relief tablets can often relieve the pain of toothache, but you must never let the pill rest against your teeth and gums as it will cause a burning reaction on your gum tissue. If you have severe toothache, you must get in touch with us immediately so that, in the event of infection, we can stop it from spreading.
If your mouth is bleeding due to an accident, hold a cold compress over the affected area for a few minutes. Sometimes, your gums can also bleed; you should see an emergency dentist as soon as possible to have your gums checked out.
“I cannot thank you enough for fixing my toothache at such short notice!”
